Stroll Garden: A Tranquil Forest Stroll, CT
Featured, Landscape Architecture
Inspired by the meditative qualities of Japanese culture, our clients desired a serene garden retreat within their backyard, bordered by untouched woods. The Stroll Garden emerged as a daily sanctuary from the stresses of modern life, offering a custom-crafted "forest" experience within their property. Situated on the west side of the property, adjacent to the existing woodland, the garden features a gently meandering shallow stream that flows from south to north, diverging to form a small island. The paths, designed like delicate latticework, weave over and beside the stream, encouraging continuous, reflective exploration. This garden is also conceived as a space for shinrin-yoku or forest bathing, supporting profound well-being. Though a man-made landscape just yards from their home, clients feel truly enveloped by the woods, experiencing a seamless transition from their backyard into a serene, spiritual journey.
